Community advisory boards and committees overview
Members of the public and local officials can be appointed to serve on 4 different watershed boards and various county advisory boards, task forces and committees.
Appointed members advise county commissioners on issues and programs, help set policy, and deal with a variety of topics of concern to the county.
You can also be elected to serve on the Three Rivers Park District.
Openings
Applications will be available and accepted March 4 through April 4 at 5 p.m.
Birth Justice Community Advisory Board

Each position has unique eligibility requirements. Review them before applying.

Online
- Create an account to apply for an advisory or watershed district board position. You may need to create a new account even if you had a previous account. This is due to a system upgrade.
- After applying, you will see a confirmation page.
- If you don’t see a confirmation page, or otherwise have trouble with the application, email the county board clerk’s office at board.clerk@hennepin.us.

You'll get an email with next steps from HC.Mail.Service@hennepin.mn.us.
Interview statement recording
If eligible, you'll be asked to provide a pre-recorded interview statement. The statement will be played for the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners during a scheduled committee or board meeting.
- Recordings are limited to three minutes.
- Introduce yourself and talk about why you're interested in the position.
- You may talk about multiple positions you are applying for.
- Follow the board rules of participation listed on Board meetings.

Reappointments
