Reporting sexual misconduct at a corrections facility
The Prison Rape Elimination Act, or PREA, is a federal law to guide correctional institutions in preventing, identifying and responding to sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment in confinement settings.
Hennepin County Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) complies with this law through practices that keep staff, clients and residents safe. The department has zero tolerance for incidents of sexual abuse, misconduct or harassment in DOCCR facilities.
Current PREA report
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation is required to post the annual PREA report, which includes the number of substantiated, unsubstantiated and unfounded incidents that have occurred at our facilities.
