Cedar Avenue repaving
Hennepin County is making improvements to Cedar Avenue (County Road 152) between Washington Avenue (County Road 122) and 20th Avenue South. This project includes intersection work, paving and restriping to improve accessibility and provide a safer experience for people traveling in and through the area.
Construction updates
Dates are tentative and subject to change.
Early-to-mid June
- Crews will repave Cedar Avenue between Washington and 20th avenues. Paving is scheduled to begin June 3, and we expect all work to be completed by Saturday, June 6. Paving typically takes 3-4 days. This makes the pavement smoother and safer for the years ahead.
- Expect single lane traffic when project crews are on site paving and painting the road.
- Flaggers will occasionally need to stop and direct vehicles through the construction area.
- Crews will paint the lane markings (stripe) between South 6th Street and 20th Avenue South with one travel lane in each direction, a center left turn lane, and a parking lane or shoulder space on each side. When complete, people should experience calmer traffic with lower vehicle speeds.
