University and Fourth Avenue improvements
County roads 36 and 37 in Minneapolis
Hennepin County, in participation with the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Metro Transit, and the University of Minnesota, is improving University Avenue (County Road 36) and Fourth Street (County Road 37) between I-35W and Oak Street in Minneapolis.

Project updates
Traffic impacts
This project is complete, and the roads have reopened to everyone who uses them. Improvements include:
- New pavement on University Avenue and 4th Street
- Protected bike lanes on University Avenue and Fourth Street
- Upgraded intersections that meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements
- Modernized traffic signals
- Improved access to transit stops
